Making fun with four strings

Happily strumming away since 2018, Low Fell Ukes is a club run by the people, for the people.

About Low Fell Ukes

Low Fell Ukes was established in 2018 simply because there were uke players who wanted  to play their music with others. The club has grown from a dozen or so folk to a membership of over sixty and an average weekly attendance of 35 plus.

We produce our own songbooks, have run the Ukes of the North Festival each July, raise funds for local charities and play most weeks for residents of local care homes. We have also run Beginner’s courses which have resulted in the establishment of a second club on Monday Afternoons – the Shakey Strummers.

Ukes of the North Festival

12th July 2025

Our fourth annual ukulele festival for amateur ukulele players and clubs across the North East.

Supporting the community

Low Fell Ukes believe that having fun with a ukulele can be shared for the benefit of the community. This may be entertaining others or raising funds for local charities.
