Welcome to Low Fell Ukes new website
Low Fell Ukes has just celebrated its seventh birthday and as part of this has published a new website to help keep folk in touch with what is going on in the club. The site contains news of events past and future together with –
- our library of songbooks
- a calendar of our performances
- information on the Ukes of the North Festival
and much more.
Just taking a quick look back at 2024 we had a tremendous year which saw us –
- Play at over forty local Care Homes and Day Centres, entertaining older folk, and people with disabilities
- Run our third Ukes of the North Festival which attracted 230 amateur ukulele players from the North East
- Play at Gateshead Music and Beer Festival
- Raised over £1300 for Bryson’s Animal Shelter – our charity of the year
- Start two beginners’ classes, one of which has become the highly successful Shakey Strummers as well as
- Meeting on a weekly basis to enjoy playing a wide range of songs, suggested by members
… and looking forward to 2025
Very much more and more of the same with over forty performances already booked and the Ukes of the North festival being planned for 12th July 2025. We have published a brand new Songbook 2025 which is already going down a storm.
Our biggest hope for the new website is to keep you up to date with what we are up to… so keep cong back and having a look.
