Ukes of The North Festival

Our annual ukulele festival for ukulele players and clubs
across the North East

Ukes of the North Festival 2026

Saturday 11th July 2026

Low Fell Ukes will be running its fifth Ukes of the North festival this summer and invites ukulele players to either take part or simply enjoy the day.

Ukes of the North is a one-day ukulele festival on Saturday 11th July 2026, bringing together ukulele players of all abilities from across the North-East, providing the opportunity to perform, share music, build links and, of course, to have fun!

The festival will take place at Gateshead Rugby Football Club, Eastwood Gardens, Low Fell, Gateshead NE9 5UB. There is no entrance cost but it would be helpful to know if you are intending to come along and join us for a full afternoon and evening of solid uke fun.

We will be starting at 12 noon and finish around 9pm. There will be plenty of communal singing and open mic as well as enjoying performances from players and clubs. There will be a bar and free snacks available.

The Ukes of the North Club Festival will provide the opportunity for amateur ukulele clubs, groups and soloists to take to the stage and share their music. All performers will have their own dedicated slot with staging and amplification to show them off to their finest. This is purely for amateur players and there are no costs or fees involved. However, this year we will be making a collection for our Charity of the Year – ‘Joes Place’ – a drop-in centre for vulnerable people in Gateshead, offering free hot food, companionship and support for the homeless, addicted or lonely.

At this stage it would be really helpful if you could let us know –

  • Have we got the right contact details for your club / group?
  • Do you fancy doing a performance?
    • If so, are you a solo artist, group or club?
    • What sort of music will you be playing
  • Is your group likely to be coming along to join the audience?
  • Are there any other groups you could let us know about?

Just drop us an email at ukesofthenorth@aol.com

All the details will be sorted nearer the time. Keep up to date at – https://lowfellukes.com/ukes-of-the-north-festival/

Looking forward to hearing from you.
