Sad News - Pauline Hennessey has died

Pauline Hennessey (centre) regular strummer and a wonderful member of Low Fell Ukes sadly died on Wednesday 19th August.

Pauline had been suffering from a chest complaint for sometime and was taken into hospital on Tuesday suffering from pneumonia (not COVID-19 related). Sadly, in the early hoirs of Wednesday Pauline suffered a cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.

There are no funeral arrangements yet but due to current restrictions it is unlikely that LFU members would be able to attend.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

How do we remember our friends

During the current times it is hard to show our appreciation and sadness in the usual ways. However, we play and we sing and I would like to remember Pauline and our other friends who have passed away through song. I was immediately drawn to Tom Paxton’s ‘Comedians and Angels’, a song which looks back on his friends who are not longer around. I have taken the liberty of revising the lyrics to speak about our friends.

I would very much like to sing this with members on Monday and Thursday next week.
