I am starting to miss real life…

I started off in lockdown phase really looking forward to all the things I could get done with all the spare time. Well I have…

  • Decorated the dining room

  • Tidied the garden to the point you could eat off the paving

  • Made my own bread - finding flour became an odyssey in itself

  • Wrote a cheery lockdown song and

  • Got to grips with this website - yes I have even managed to get downloadable PDFs on the Song of the Week and link to Facebook.

Best loaf yet

I am now getting to the stage where I would just love to meet up with other uke players and just sing some songs. Zoom is great for keeping in touch and the Dead Skunks are having a conference call on Friday but its not the same as performing. Perhaps what we should be doing is looking forward to some of the performances we will be doing over the summer and start to build a really interesting set list. It will give us all something to focus on.

We have a few potentially interesting songs in the making such as,

  • Another Brick in the Wall

  • Old Town Road

  • Limehouse Blues

Let me have thoughts of others that we can possibly polish when we meet up.

It’s great seeing you all on Thursdays and I will try to keep this website up to date to give you all something ukeish to dip into. I looked at the analytics this morning and over the first thirty days of the site we have had 232 visits and 1181 page views… not bad for our beginning month. Feel free to let people know about our site and try to build our following.

Anyway back to reality - Homebase reopened this week and Angela and I were down there to buy -

  • Floor varnish for resurfacing the study floor

  • Fence paint for the obvious

  • Grout whitening pen and Brilliant White paint - starting on the bathroom on Friday

  • Tomato and mint plants

Well that should keep me busy for another couple of weeks.

Have a look at the new Song of the Week - “Black Magic Woman”

See you soon

Richard
